Some Bryan County residents asked that we use impact fees to help with increased costs; however, school systems cannot assess impact fees, by law, in the state of Georgia.

Bryan County Schools must maintain an active millage rate that supports all needs associated with continuous growth. As a reminder, the calculated rollback rate only provides the same level of funding that was received the prior digest year. For this reason, high growth school systems can very rarely use their rollback rate without negatively affecting students. Bryan County's growth in the digest limits the Board of Education's need to increase the millage rate.
