Mr. Melcher's 8th graders are raising a chicken, rooster and now their baby chicks! So far, three chicks have hatched and more are on the way. Mama chicken is cool and collected about the whole situation, but students and staff are ecstatic! Skyler Roberts, Kaylee Deloach, and Lauren Riner are responsible for taking care of the chicks, feeding them, and monitoring the progress. The chicks will stay in a brooder for two to three months. Students will be expanding the chicken pen to make room for the new arrivals when they are ready to progress to a new environment. #WeAreRHMS
