Congratulations to Ethan Atkinson for winning the American Red Cross Blood Drive Scholarship for $500.  Along with writing an essay, Ethan was instrumental in organizing and helping at three blood drives this year held at the school.  Ethan recruited students and faculty to fill slots to give blood for each drive, and he maximized the use of social media for recruitment and gave up his lunch during the recruitment to sign up students.  Ethan wrote in his essay that he worked to engage people in the blood drives and that was certainly true.  Ethan helped create a social awareness of the importance of blood donation and has hopefully instilled in our donors a life-long commitment to continue stepping up to give the gift of life.  Thanks so much Ethan!  Ethan is Vice President of SADD Club, Secretary of the Math Team and involved in service oriented clubs such as National Honor Society, Beta Club, Interact and Mu Alpha Theta.  He has been accepted into Georgia Institute of Technology and is pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Physics.
