In the 6th Grade Science hydrology unit, students study ocean currents. Because the Earth rotates, the wind causes the ocean currents curve toward the right in the Northern Hemisphere and to the left in the Southern hemisphere. Pictured are Dr. Ford's students using a balloon to represent the Earth. One student spun the balloon while another student tried to draw a straight line from the poles to the equator. It showed the lines curved, even though they tried to draw a straight line. #WeAreRHMS

Dr. Ford's ELT class brought materials from home and worked in small groups to design, build, and test water filters. The objective was to bring more awareness on how water scarcity can impact and inspire children to do their part in conserving water. They poured "polluted" water in each filter and observed the cleanliness of the filtered water. #WeAreRHMS
